PODCAST #2: Society, Local Policies, and Institutions – Empathy, Responsibility, and Trust in the System

The podcast 'Society, Local Policies, and Institutions' delivers powerful messages about empathy, responsibility, and the role of institutions in the daily lives of citizens.

Through a conversation with guests Andrea Šćepanović, psychologist at the Red Cross of Bar, and Biljana Pajović, social worker and director of the Center for Social Work Bar and Ulcinj, numerous important questions were raised—concerning genuine dedication to community service in the field of social protection, institutional cooperation, professional responsibility and empathy, mental health, trust in institutions, volunteerism, and the role of young people in the community.

Podcast host, journalist Aleksandra Bojić Ivanović, guides us through topics that rarely receive space in public discourse—from the “faces and flip sides” of volunteerism, to emotional literacy, gender-sensitive policies, and the challenges that come with working in the social protection system.

Why is it important to “walk in someone else’s shoes”? What does true service to the community look like? And how ready are our institutions to truly listen to the needs of citizens?

This podcast episode was produced in cooperation with the Business Start Center Bar and the NGO Women’s Action, as part of the project “Developing Leadership Skills for Inclusive Governance”, with the support of the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro.

Podcast production, recording, and editing were done by Dejan Senić.
