The first meeting, which marked the beginning of the implementation of the project 'Smart Tourism - innovation and knowledge transfer in the tourism sector', was organized in BSC Bar office on 30th September 2016. The project is implemented by Business Start-up Center Bar in cooperation with the Faculty of Tourism- Montenegro Tourism School (MTS), University Mediterranean and the company Abordage llc while the financial support is provided by the European Commission. The project aims to improve cooperation between the economy, higher education institutions and research centers in the field of tourism through the transfer of knowledge and open innovation and through the increasing of entrepreneurship and innovation skills of students of the Faculty.
Smart tourism project will provide significant benefits to the local community and will network all relevant actors in the field of tourism: entrepreneurs, travel agencies, businesses, service providers in the field of information technology, students and representatives of institutions of higher education. The implementation will last 15 months during which there will be organized: trainings and practical workshops on topics of open innovation and virtual travel agencies, survey in the field of tourism etc. One of the results of the project is to open Smart tourist center in the premises of BSC Bar, where students, SMEs, entrepreneurs and innovators in the field of tourism, exchange of knowledge, experience and develop innovation.
